介入做為城市記憶空間的顯影劑

摘要


隨著近30年台中市的都市發展,在老舊城區中有許多過去存在集體記憶的空間,逐年被人遺忘、忽略、拆除。如果有機會能夠將這些具有集體記憶價值的空間再次顯露,也許可以做為城市發展其公共空間的焦點,建構出公共空間系統中頗具特色的空間。 本設計論文研究之目的有其二: 一、藝術創作中的介入如何轉化成為建築設計做為揭露空間特質的手段或方法。二、具有特色之公共空間,如何透過介入的手段以微整形的方式展現,呈現空間特色。 透過文獻回顧及彙整,本研究發現公共藝術介入的手法,能有效利用公共空間,將公共性價值提升到公民意識上;並運用Matta Clark理論中的 "cut" 凸顯出空間特色。 在基地選擇上,1970年台中市中區的老劇院有將近11家同時經營,成為日常休閒的主流。因此,針對現況保存完整又位於地標台中公園對面的豪華聯美劇院,其性質有別於一般劇院空間,周遭被住商混合住宅大樓圍繞,所有權問題讓該基地的更新遲遲無法進行,面對環境日漸衰敗、遺忘,本研究期望能提供暫時性的方案作為參考。 本研究透過藝術創作中介入觀念的關鍵字:「互動」、「意圖」、「場所」、「觀者」以及啟發自Matta Clark 的切割對於具集體記憶的舊有空間,進行輕微手段的設計介入來揭露空間特質。 內容著重於通過對於老舊戲院的暗空間的切割,讓空間在特定的位置與角度因為光線明暗、氣候變化等呈現多重氛圍,以及由於暗空間的特質所提供的視覺深度變化造成的空間知覺經驗來產生疊加的敘事性想像。通過這樣的設計手段提供重構觀者經驗、記憶,形塑公共討論之機會。

With the urban development of Taichung City in the past 30 years, there are many spaces with collective memory in the old urban areas that have been forgotten, neglected and demolished year by year. If there is a chance to reveal these spaces with collective memory value again, they may be the focus of the city's public space development and construct a distinctive space in the public space system. The purpose of this design paper is twofold: First, how the interventions in artistic creation can be transformed into architectural design as a means or method to reveal the characteristics of space. Secondly, how to present the characteristics of public space through the means of intervention in a microscopic way. Through literature review and synthesis, this study finds that public art interventions can effectively utilize public space and raise the value of publicness to civic consciousness. The study also utilizes Matta Clark's theory of "cut" to highlight the characteristics of the space. In terms of site selection, in 1970 there were nearly 11 old theaters operating simultaneously in Taichung's Central District, becoming the mainstream of daily leisure.Therefore, this study hopes to provide a temporary solution as a reference, especially for the Hau hua Lian mei Theater, which is well preserved and located opposite the landmark Taichung Park, and its nature is different from ordinary theater space, surrounded by mixed residential and commercial buildings. This study simulates the design method through the key points of the art intervention, "interaction", "intention", "place", "viewer", and Matta Clark “cut”, by cutting the space,which is a slight intervention to reveal the spatial characteristics of memory space. The content focuses on the unusual presentation of space through cutting, in order to reconstruct the viewer's experience and memory, and to create opportunities for public discussion. The design presents the spatial experience with the opportunity to recreate the value of collective memory and the imagery of the place.
