在國際化與全球化的風潮帶領之下,改變了全球的經濟型態。國與國間打破了彼此的貿易障礙,跨越國家的疆界,追求更好的貿易環境及貿易夥伴。目前全球前十大經濟體一半以上都是跨國企業,跨國企業在世界上各個國家建置全球供應鏈,造成企業的投資與採購、決策與運作和從前產生極大的變化,使得企業赴海外投資已成為必然的趨勢。台灣企業在198O年代中期以後,因為本身投資環境的惡化,加上新台幣大幅升值的影響,許多勞力密集型的中小企業紛紛前往東南亞投資。由於語言文化相近、商業習慣相同,使台商在大陸的投資迅速發展。近年來,由於諸多因素造成大陸的投資環境已不具優勢,使台商意識到必需轉戰其他投資地點替代大陸。而印度因為其11億的廣大人口、遼闊的土地及優沃的天然資源,紛紛吸引台商的進駐。 本研究首先經由國際投資理論,探討企業決定赴海外投資的考量因素。接著,藉由研究當地化策略,了解跨海投資的企業因應當地國、區域的獨特性所進行的調整,及面對不同文化、歷史、價值觀等社會面要素所應採取的策略。接著,分析印度社會特有的種姓制度,造成其社會結構的衝擊及投資型態的影響。最後,以農友種苗股份有限公司(以下簡稱農友公司)案例分析該公司印度投資因應社會面所採行的策略。整體而言,農友在印度投資,除了經濟面及投資面的考量之外,更具有促進印度社會進步的意義與價值。
Lead by the trend of internationalization and globalization, overseas investment has become essential for enterprises. Since the mid 1980s, as a result of the deterioration of Taiwanese investment climate and the rapid appreciation of New Taiwan Dollar, many of Taiwan’s labor-intensive medium and small businesses began to invest in South East Asia. Because of the similar culture, language, and business custom, Taiwanese investment in China increases rapidly. However, China’s investment advantages declines in recent and that forces Taiwanese business to find an alternative place to invest. India, with 1.1 billion population, vast land, and abundant natural resources, has attracted Taiwan business to invest. This research first uses international investment theories to analyze the major factors that business consider in overseas investment. Next, through the analysis of localization strategies, to understand how a business once decided to invest in overseas to adapt to the host country’s particular culture, history, and society and what strategies they choose. Then this research analyzes India’s special caste system and how it affects social structure and investment pattern. At last, the research uses Known-You Seed Co., LTD as a case to analyze the strategies to adapt to the social aspect of India investment. All in all, the investment of Known-You in India is not just for economic and investment considerations but to promote social progress in India.
