摘要

二十世紀初的中國是個紛亂的年代，卻也是基督教在全中國開花結果的美麗時代。當時中國基督徒作家中，米星如著實是百年難得一見的文學奇葩，他能夠同時出版基督教社論、書寫教會諷刺小說、創作民族兒童文學、改寫《舊約》小說故事，還能翻譯各式各樣基督教的英語圖書，他的基督教文藝創作的才華令人讚嘆。
米星如開創新穎的嘲諷文學手法，展現強烈的改革力道，除了揭穿教會長久以來的積習與黑暗，更是促進基督教的成長與進步。他勇敢提出中國社會應該調整努力的大方向，以及基督徒應有堅持真理的耶穌樣貌；他始終堅持這樣的理想與信念，從不動搖。
米星如是中國基督教文藝創作的閃亮彗星；短暫，卻光彩耀人。他的《舊約》改寫小說 ─《長征》，開啟了民國初年《聖經》文學的門扉。他更是中國民族童話的先驅者，他所描寫的主角，幾乎都是在社會最底層的小人物，憑藉著單純的信心與堅忍的毅力，來影射耶穌基督犧牲、奉獻與無私的愛。他創作的三本童話故事集《吹簫人》、《仙蟹》和《石獅》不但文筆透亮，精采動人，更將基督教的博愛精神融入其中，而成為中國兒童文學作品的經典。
透過米星如基督教文藝創作的研究，可以體察當時的社會環境的變遷，清楚明白基督教是一股極具影響力的風潮，足以改變全中國。而米星如也沒有辜負上帝所給與的恩賜，盡心戮力在基督文學的創作之中，成為一盞明燈，發光發熱，溫暖照亮每一個中國人的心坎。

China was in a turmoil in early 20th century, and yet it was the same time Christianity spread in China. Mi Xingru was an outstanding Christian writer then, who could publish Christian editorial articles, satirical novels, ethnic children literature, as well as many other Christian translation literatures. His talent in Christian literature was spectacular.
Mi Xingru created a new way in satirical literature, which not only uncovered the dark of churches but also pushed Christianity forward. He claimed that China should adjust the way of changing and Christian should firmly hold the truth in Jesus. Mi Xingru’s strong style did arouse critics from churches and the conservative, but he held his faith and not being shaken.
Mi Xingru was a comet in Chinese Christian literature, shined and passed soon. His novel “Chang-zheng” based on Old Testament led latter writings in bible literature. This novel in modern language tried to educate people with a more interesting way so that readers could understand the beauty of bible literature easily.
Mi Xingru was a pioneer in Chinese ethnic tales. He portrayed people at a lower social-economic level. Jesus’s love was expressed through these characters’ pure faith and willpower. His three collections of tales , “Chuayxiaoren”，”Xianxie” and ”Shihshih”, are classic in which readers can find the love of Christianity.
Readers can observe the changing society through Mi Xingru’s writing, and understand that Christianity was a wave then that could change the whole China. Mi Xingru did not fail his talents by devoting in Christian literature, seeing the obstacles as trials. His works will shine as a lighthouse in Christian literature forever.
