行動式的IDC機房維運管理

ISP的機房運作，是必須在7 x 24全年無休的情況下，提供不中斷的服務水準，在這個要求下，除了一般在機房內大量的網路設備以及伺服器的軟硬體管理外，尚有機房的維運管理，至目前為止，大多數的ISP所參考及採用的是ISO所訂定的標準作業流程，依據這些流程制定了標準作業程序以及紙上作業以確保機房管理一定的服務品質，然而在整體維運管理的工作設計以及應用上，實際運作時也常伴隨一些不便與缺乏彈性，造成機房在維運管理的服務水準上，無法能更有效的提升。本論文針對ISP主機代管的機房管理，提出一個行動式的機房維運管理架構，讓機房人員當在日常機房巡視，發現客戶網路設備或伺服主機異常時，可以於現場利用具有照相功能的行動式設備，讀取與辨識貼於客戶主機或者機櫃上的QR 二維條碼，經由無線區域網路迅速連線至對應的維運管理web介面進行管理。此行動式管理架構所提供機房現場維運管理功能，可以有效改善目前機房人員必須不斷的往返機房和監控室的不方便性，讓機房人員可以很機動的為客戶處理問題，並且有效提高機房維運管理的服務水準。

The services provided by an ISP data center should continue in a 7x24 manner to achieve quality of service at a non-stop level. Under the strict requirements, in addition to the management of network equipment and server hardware, the operations of the data center itself play an important role to provide highly available services to Internet users. Currently, to ensure the operations quality of data centers, most data centers adopt ISO standards to define standard operating procedures (SOPs) for data center operations. The tedious paperwork regulated by SOPs may introduce much inconvenience and inflexibility, which may be harmful to the improvement of current data center operations. For better management of ISP data centers, this thesis proposes a novel mobile management framework for IDC (Internet Data Center) operations. Via the proposed mobile management framework, each operator is equipped with a handheld PDA with camera and Wi-Fi capability during his routine patrol. When finding any device in an abnormal state, he can easily identify the device by using the camera built in a handheld PDA to capture the QR code associated with the device. In addition, the QR code indicates the URL of the web interface for the management of the device. The operator can immediately access the web interface via the PDA’s built-in web browser through the wireless LAN installed in the cabinet area. With the above support, it is not needed anymore for an operator to go back to the console room for further processing. Therefore, the proposed mobile management framework provides a possible direction for the improvement of the current IDC operations.
