摘要


為了使液晶在薄膜顯示器上更具有豐富的色彩,需要更高位元解析度的數位類比轉換器來推動液晶面板。在本研究中,吾人提出一種具有步階時間控制器的漸進式數位類比轉換器,其原理是根據不同的數位輸入資料調變連續的時間訊號去控制開關導通,如此一來電路的架構僅需一組開關和控制器即可。與近年來在液晶顯示驅動器源極驅動電路的研究相比較,提出的架構只需共用第一級的電阻串,不需要對第二級做額外的補償。而提出的八位元源極驅動器使用的是台灣積體電路公司提供的0.35微米製程技術製作,由實驗的結果顯示設計的八位元源極驅動器,最大的穩定時間為7微米,通道的平均面積為0.012平方微米。

To achieve deeper color depth for TFT-LCD drivers, it requires higher resolution on DACs to drive LCD panels. In this study, we proposed a sequential DAC with step-time controller. By modulating continuous time signals to turn on switches with different data input, the DAC could be composed of one set of controllers and switches. Compared with recent researches of LCD source drivers, the proposed DAC is shared with one global resistor string without extra second stage analogue compensations that in every channel. The proposed 8-bit source driver was implemented using TSMC 0.35-μm CMOS technology. The maximum settling time is 7 μs, and the average area per channel is 0.012 mm2.
