親密關係暴力對受暴婦女就業影響之探討

摘要


本研究旨在探討:(一)受暴經驗對婦女就業的影響;(二)受暴婦女在就業過程中如何處理受暴對其就業的影響;(三)受暴婦女對雇主或機構處理其親密關係暴力事件的感受以及期待。研究中以質性之深度訪談法進行資料蒐集,共計十七位受暴婦女受訪。本研究結果歸納以下重點: 一、受暴經驗對於婦女就業,具有多面向的傷害,包括:工作表現的低落、缺席與遲到、辭職與被解僱、就業不穩定、未來工作的選擇受限、與同事相處的問題、自營工作者的生意休息、歇業、收入減少。這些對婦女就業的傷害,有些會延續到婦女脫離受暴關係後,呈現長期性的就業影響。 二、受暴婦女在就業過程中,面對受暴影響就業時,其回應包括:繼續工作、工作缺席、辭職,其回應主要受到個人(安全性與身心狀況)、家庭(經濟需要與對先生或家庭的情感)與職場(職場對自身受暴回應與對雇主的負責)三層面的考量相互影響產出的。 三、受暴婦女對於職場同仁與主管提供的支持與協助,賦予相當高的評價;而遭受職場同仁與主管較負面性回應的受訪婦女,則多感到冷漠、失望、或甚至驚訝。此外,部分婦女因為對台灣職場環境的負面印象,以及認為受暴屬於自己的私事,不認為台灣職場主管或雇主會對遭受親密關係暴力的員工給予協助,因此對於職場回應自身受暴狀況,是不抱任何期待的,另外有少數婦女提出對職場「友善的工作環境」之期待。   根據研究發現,研究者提出幾點建議:(一)建議實務工作者促進對親密關係暴力對受暴婦女就業影響之認識與應用;(二)建議實務機構可提供在職受暴婦女「心理調適」課程,幫助在職受暴婦女學習方法,促進心理調適,緩和受暴對其工作影響;(三)建議推動友善職場,包括「友善的公司制度」以及「職場同仁支持性的回應」。

The aims of this study are exploring: 1. How the intimate partner violence affects battered women’s employment; 2. How the battered women cope with the interruption to employment; 3. The expectation and feeling of battered women toward the way bosses or organizations deal with intimate partner violence. The study method is in depth interview, in total 17 battered women were interviewed. The conclusions drawn on this study are: 1. Experience of violence harms the women’s employment in many ways, including low task performance, absence and tardiness, job instability, limited future job selection, not getting along with colleagues, to break of the business, to go out of business, and income reduction.These harmful effects can continue after the woman is separated from the abuser, becoming a long-term employment influence. 2. When employment is interrupted by abusers, the response of battered women are: to continue to work, absence from work, quitting their job, etc. The responses are mainly inter-related between three levels of factors, individual (security and mental condition), the family (economic needs and affection with the abuser) and the labor force (the organization’s measure upon intimate violence). 3. Battered women appreciate support from bosses and colleagues very much. They feel disappointment or shock when treated negatively or indifferently by colleagues. Some battered women have negative impressions about the labor force in Taiwan and think intimate violence is private, so they don’t think they can get any help form bosses or supervisors. They feel hopeless about the measure of organization upon intimate violence. But still some women expect a friendly environment for battered women. Based on the study, the researcher puts forward several suggestions: (1) practice workers should know the effects of intimate violence on women and apply related skills to help them. (2) organizations should schedule “the psychological adjustment” curriculum, which helps battered women deal with their negative experiences caused by intimate violence. (3) promote a friendly job force, including a “friendly company system” as well as “work place colleague's supporting response”. Keywords:Intimate partner violence, Battered women, Employment
