台灣監視社會與監視安全產業互動關係之研究

本論文探討的研究問題是：監視安全產業究竟對監視社會之生成提供了什麼樣的物質基礎，而監視社會文化與監視安全產業又是透過什麼樣的相互影響過程，形塑出今日監視社會的各種現象，作者透過西方馬克思主義所詮釋的上層建築理論作為兩者間的聯繫，來瞭解監視社會和監視安全產業間的互動關係。除分析既有文獻外，本研究亦以半結構式的深度訪談法蒐集監視安全產業從業人員的看法。研究結果發現，在監視社會中，監視文化與監視安全產業兩者的互動關係，就如同西方馬克思主義的上層建築理論所闡述的，代表下層建築的「監視安全產業」和代表上層建築的「監視社會文化」彼此是互為影響的，而且是以一種互惠關係存在著。本研究認為監視安全產業提供了監視社會所需的物質基礎設備，監視社會發展日益茁壯下，帶動更多監視安全產業投入生產及製造的行列，監視安全產業在擴張的市場滋養下，監視社會文化現象持續的發展，如此皆朝向監視社會的深化。

This thesis studies what the material base of surveillance industry is to the formation of surveillance society. What is the mutual influencing process between surveillance culture and surveillance industry that shapes the phenomena of surveillance society? The author applies the Superstructure theory of Western Marxism to understand the interaction relationship between surveillance society and surveillance industry. In addition to analyzing current surveillance literature, this research also uses semi-structural, in-depth interview to collect the opinions of the employees working in the surveillance industry. The substructure of surveillance industry and the superstructure of surveillance culture influence each other in a kind of reciprocal relationship. Results show that the surveillance industry provides surveillance society with plentiful infrastructure that can be used to monitor people’s daily life. The expansion of surveillance society fosters the manufacturing production of surveillance industry in turn. The widening surveillance industry continuously nurtures the development of surveillance culture. This directs to the deepening of surveillance society.
