摘要


由於半導體光電元件具有直接電驅動、低功率損耗、且易於大量製造…等優點,因此本研究提出且實驗驗證在外部光注入1.3μm量子點面射型雷射於全光訊號處理系統之可行性,其中量子點面射型雷射於系統中用於產生光反向與非反向訊號。此外,量子點面射型雷射的光輸出偏振特性也被實驗分析。這些研究工作將有助於量子點半導體元件與光信號處理的發展。

This investigation proposes and experimentally demonstrates optical signal processing using a 1.3μm quantum dot vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser in an external injection scheme. The quantum dot vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser is used to generate optical inverted and non-inverted data signals. Moreover, the polarization characteristics of quantum dot vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser are also examined experimentally. These works will be useful in the field of optical signal processing and quantum dot devices.
