運用數位遊戲融合英文教學設計創新之研究

摘要


英語作為全世界廣泛使用的語言之一,在台灣是一個重要政策方向,同時也是家長們重視的一大教學領域。但是在過去許多人在英語學習上有段痛苦的記憶,這導致學習興趣不高,間接的也影響學習成效。因此如何提升學習動機以改善英語學習成效是一個重要議題。然而,近年來新世代對電子媒介的喜愛,加上軟硬體技術提升,遊戲化教學成為改善教學的重要潛在方法。 本研究針對私人美語補習班之國中一年級學生,透過研究者自製之數位遊戲來融入英語課程,以遊戲化教學來提升學生的學習動機和成效,藉此改善過去現場教學的困難點。本研究以行動研究方式進行,在過程中收集質性與量化資料以了解學生學習情形並不斷地觀察、反思、修正,發展出一套合適的教學模式,最後再對系統面及研究面分別提出參考意見。研究結果發現透過遊戲化教學對於提升英語學習動機有明顯的幫助,不管是在注意構面、相關構面、信心構面、滿意構面上均有達到顯著差異,而美觀的介面以及結合故事性內容是吸引學生的重要因素,此外,運用Unity搭配Fungus可以進行快速遊戲開發,在創新教學上能為研究者減輕負擔。

As one of the most widely spoken languages in the world, English is an important policy direction in Taiwan and a major area of instruction for parents. However, many people have painful memories of learning English in the past, which has led to low interest in learning and indirectly affected learning outcomes. Therefore, it is an important issue to enhance motivation to improve English learning. However, in recent years, the new generation's love for electronic media, coupled with the advancement of hardware and software technology, has made game-based instruction an important potential method for improving teaching and learning. In this study, the researchers used a digital game created by the researchers to integrate into the English curriculum for first-grade students in a private cram school, in order to improve the motivation and effectiveness of students' learning, and to improve the difficulties of on-site teaching in the past. This study was conducted as an action research study, during which qualitative and quantitative data were collected to understand the students' learning situation and to continuously observe, reflect, and revise to develop an appropriate teaching model, and finally to provide references to the systemic and research aspects respectively. The results of the study revealed that game-based teaching was significantly helpful in enhancing the motivation of English language learning, in terms of the attention, relevance, confidence, and satisfaction dimensions. In addition, Unity and Fungus can be used for rapid game development, which can reduce the burden of researchers in innovative teaching.
