智慧財產權對中小企業存活的衝擊？

創新是這個世代企業經營的重點，智慧財產權則是評估創新成果的重要指標，也是現今國際競爭力上廣被討論的議題。中小企業(SME)對國家經濟活動，例如國家稅收、社會安定與國家競爭力的貢獻，在各國都十分顯著，尤其是像台灣這般中小企業家數占總體廠商數近98%的經濟體，探討以智慧財產權為指標衡量的創新對中小企業持續經營，就顯得格外重要。現今也有許多有關研究中小企業產品、公司營運、技術領域…等等週期領域方面的研究，但比較缺少研究在一個國家裡，中小企業存續狀態領域的議題。因此，本論文嘗試以智慧財產權量化指標的創新成果，對中小企業之存續與否的衝擊做一分析及探討，以研究生所經營28年營運的客戶資料中，作為本次研究分析探討的對象，如此所得的驗證數據結果，因為有歷經三個十年景氣循環，在證據取得與驗證上的信度及效度上也比較值得參考。

Innovation is one of the most important key success factors (KSFs) of business development and growth. Intellectual property right (IPR) is one of the key performance indexes (KPIs) of evaluating outcome of innovation. IPR is currently the most popular index to explore the international competitive strength of one’s country. Contributions of small & medium enterprises (SMEs) on country’s economic activity are very significant around the world. The number of SMEs accounts for nearly 98% of the total enrolled enterprises in Taiwan; thus, SMEs are critical to Taiwan’s economic performance. There are many researches on product life cycle, operation cycle, technology cycle…etc, but lacking IPR effect on the SMEs survival; thus, this research tries to fill the gap. Empirical data are retrieved from the customers of researchers’ own company along 27 years from 1991 to the end of 2017. We believe that the outcome of this study will get more reliability and efficiency for reference because the empirical analysis has gone through 3 boom and bust business cycles during near 30 years historical trading data. Evidences support the criticality of IPR on SME’s performance though effectiveness depends on heterogeneity of business characteristics. Implications are discussed based on empirical research and conclusion drawn to show more research potential in this area.
