This study aims to investigate the effect of marriage on income for men and women. I pools the data from Taiwan Social Change Survey of 2001, 2006 and 2011, uses Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) method. Our explained variable is the indicator for personal income higher than $ 30,000 per month. The main explainary variable is marital status which includes Single, Married and Divorced, widowed or separated. For discussing in detail, I not only regress all sample on data, but also separating them by education, work place and age. Based on the similar regression models, I find that the marriage premium exists generally, on married men in Taiwan, no matter his education, work place or age. However, the income of women in Taiwan may suffer from marriage, but the effect is not significant. Due to the data limitation, this paper has some restriction of endogenous problems.
