育有身心障礙子女之新移民女性的母職經驗敘說研究

A Narrative Study of the New Immigrant Women's Motherhood Experience with Disability Children

摘要


本研究旨在探討育有身心障礙子女之新移民女性的母職經驗,瞭解其外國籍及身心障礙家長身分,如何影響其母職經驗內涵,養育身心障礙子女的歷程。本研究採取的研究方法為敘說研究(narrative inquiry),而資料分析採用Lieblich等人提出的「整體─內容」與「類別─內容」兩種模式,並根據分析內容撰寫研究結果,結果發現如下: 新移民女性以母職韌力因應多重弱勢,因新移民女性自幼即為照顧者的經驗形成韌力之基礎,使她們身處臺灣面對家庭弱勢與多重勞務、母職因雙重歧視及資訊弱勢而被孤立、早期療育資源分配與認識程度的影響等多重弱勢之中,多重弱勢反而激發了母職韌力。 在新移民女性生養身心障礙子女的歷程中,走過「震驚」、「低谷」、「堅定母職信念」的三個階段歷程,她們的母職經驗體現了後現代與後殖民女性主義之觀點,呈現出獨特且不同於其他主流族群母職經驗之風貌。

This research aims to investigate the new immigrant women's motherhood experience with disability children. the researcher studies how the foreign nationality and disabled children’s parental status influence their mothering experience and the process of raising their disabled children. Narrative inquiry is used and selected in this research,and the researcher uses “holistic -content” and “categorical- content’ models proposed by Lieblich for data analysis. The results are as follows. By the resilience of motherhood, the new immigrant women cope with being multiple minorities successfully. Since the new immigrant women are use to being a caregiver, their resilience of motherhood was aroused by the multiple minorities, that is family minorities, multiple labor , and parenting dilemma. The new immigrant mothers went through three periods which is “shocking”, “rough patch” and “firm belief of motherhood” in the process of mothering disabled children. Their motherhood experience which reveal modern feminism and post-colonial feminism perspectives, that is unique and different from major ethnic group’s motherhood experience.
