摘要


知識分子闡發與傳承文化價值,不同時代背景各有其不同表現,都可為我輩進德修業的文化範式。黃光男以畫家與教師身分,在自我不斷進修努力下,躍上國家文化發展中具引導性的博物館主持工作,行政上的亮麗成績,使其畫家身分易被忽視。本文亟望透過適切的研究方法,提出客觀的理論分析,試圖從作品的圖像形式與造型關係中,剖析其創作演變的脈絡,探詢其視覺意義,以期能對作品與畫家,皆能做客觀深入的探討。 基於作品研究之聚焦考量,本文內容主要以黃光男1972~2008年的繪畫作品為研究範圍,對作品本身進行探討分析,輔以其個人相關背景的脈絡梳理。黃光男七○年代作品,傳統技法的掌握紮實,於農村鄉野大自然的題材中,藉著流暢的筆墨表現出真實動人的感染力;八O年代中期以後的創作,於公務繁忙之餘,卻仍不斷尋求變化與突破。 其創作歷程,可代表從台灣戰後環境成長的田莊孩子,於貧困中求學上進,藉由創作傳達出對土地的關愛,和積極參與現實的特質,同時也隱含著一個時代士人,努力追求藝術理想的生命熱情。透過對其繪畫作品的分析探討,可瞭解其生活實踐於心境上的豐富沉積,所造成於藝術創作中的不同展現。

In different times, cultural values and heritage were developed and passed on in different forms by the intellectuals; nevertheless they can all be good examples for the new generation. As a painter and teacher, Huang Kuang-nan has consistently been a dedicated individual in his works, which has led him to be chosen as the head of one of the leading museums in the development of national culture. But his exceptional performance in running the museum can easily make people overlooked his identity as a painter. Through relevant methodology, this study looks to provide an objective theoretical analysis by focusing on the relationship between image form and shape in his works, analyzing the evolution of the creative context, and exploring their visual meanings, in a hope that it will offer an in-depth and objective study on both the works and the artist. For the purpose of this study, this article has focused primarily on Huang Kuang-nan’s paintings dated between 1972 and 2008 as the subject of the study. These works were analyzed and discussed taking into account his personal background. His works in the 70’s showed solid execution of traditional techniques, with flowing strokes that realistically depicted scenes of the countryside and nature; after the 80’s, he continued the search for change and breakthrough despite of his busy work schedule. His creative journey is a representation of a child from a village during the post-war era in Taiwan, who worked hard in schools under extreme conditions. Through creative works his zest for life and love for the land were conveyed. They have also reflected the artist’s passion in the pursue idealism. Looking at his works in details, it is easy to see the transformation of his life experiences has into spiritual maturity, which gives his works a whole new dimension in creativity.
