Compared with other major events in our society, makeup seems to be relatively trivial. But make as the sub-culture in college campus among female students is not negligible. Make-up is a culture phenomenon which presents the social instinct of human. This research further clarifies how females construct the meaning of makeup, to shape the particular sense of beauty and to see if there is something in common in the criteria of beauty among young females, understanding the self-identification behind the behavior make up. To clarify the questions above, this research takes depth interview and relevant literature review to collect research data. After a series of investigation, the conclusion comes as follow: make up of female university students is in search of nude look, and make up has a lot to do with social context. Make us is a social behavior and becomes the origin of self-confidence. Two suggestions are given based on the research result at last: 1. to view make up as a culture activity; 2. to face the confidence and the lack of confidence among young females in a social aspect.
