複數相加創意思考法的開發與研究-以視覺傳達設計為例

摘要


不同物象的組合相加或融合,在古老民族的傳說神話中常被使用,如希臘神話 中的〝天使〝、〝牧羊神〝、埃及的〝人面獅身像〝、中國的地獄使者〝牛頭馬面 〝......等。古老的祖先們便懂得運用不同物象的融合,來詮釋其所表達的涵義, 在視覺上也打破人們對原有物象的經驗,產生新奇、特異的視覺效果。 創造力思考方式的論述在視覺傳達設計領域仍是少數,在研究者本身的學習歷 程中,創意思考方式多是自我摸索而成的。在探討創意構想時,若僅憑靈感而行, 往往容易發生創意枯竭的現象,本研究將著重於構想激發的探討,嘗試藉由不同符 號或圖象的組合相加或融合,來詮釋問題所想表達的涵義,進而尋求視覺解答,為 設計者提供一種可能的設計工作模式。命名為「複數相加」,是因為在數學的定義 來說,〝數〝是指概念而言,由不同概念相加而得另一個完全不同於前者的概念, 與本研究所謂的不同物象組合相加或融合的想法不謀而和。 本研究分四個部分:第一部份先以文獻回顧方式,進行創造力意義上的探索及 分析,並就「數學」上〝數〝的定義與命名的原由,繼而探討文字、符號及圖像與 視覺傳達間的關係。第二部份則藉由KJ法將運用田野調查的方式搜尋到相關作品予 以分類,並加以定名,分析其所包含之意義和應用於平面設計之原則,及應用實例 探討。第三部分嘗試提出複數相加創意思考方法模式,說明模式的流程和內涵,並 就此方法的目的,假設及活動運作特質與原則加以闡述。第四部份以實務案例和創 作個案來對複數相加創意思考方法提出驗證,以檢驗此方法的可行性,並針對視覺 傳達設計領域不同類型(海報、商標、書籍、月曆)等,來進行設計方法應用的可 能。

Incorporation or infusion of different physical phenomena was much practiced in ancient myths of diverse cultures,such as the angles,Pan of Capricornus in Greek mythology,the sphinx of Egypt,the envorys of bull-head and horse face from hell in Chinese myth,and so on. Ancient ancestors knew well of employing the infusion of varied physical phenomena to present, interpret meanings,breaking free of human visual perception in creating curiosity and uniqueness. The study of creative thinking in the field of visual design remains scarce. For the researchers, creative thinking in the source of learning is mostly self seeking. However,if creative thinking is entirely dependent upon inspiration,mental block, drain is likely to occur. This study is directed at examining conceptual stimulation, attempting to interpret the meaning presented through the incorporation or infusion of different symbols or icons. And through which,the aim is to attain visual solution in providing designers nwith a potential design work mode. The approach is entitled 〝additional of plural number〞as in mathematical definition; concept. Such thinking matches the incorporation or infusion of different physical phenomena this study addresses. This study is divided into four parts; the first part is review of relevant literature in exploring and analysing the meaning of creativity,and further establishes the definition and naming of〝number〞in mathematics. Moreover,the relations among words,symbols,icons and visual conveyance are also examined. The second part uses KJ methodology to locate relevant works through field survey. The works are then categorised,named;the meaning and principle applied in graphic design as well as actual examples are analysed. The third part attempts to propose a creative thinking mode of addition of plural number. The procedure and substance of the mode are explained. The particular methodology's purpose,hypothesis and the characteristics and principles of application are expounded. The fourth part cites actual creative cases in verifying the feasibility of the overall theory of creative thinking of plural addition. Furthermore,applicability of the proposed thinking mode in varied visual design categories(poster,trademark,publication,calendar,etc.)is examined.
