西貝流士《第五號交響曲》作品分析與指揮詮釋

西貝流士﹝Johan Christian Julius Sibelius, 1864-1957﹞是芬蘭代表性的國民樂派作曲家。西貝流士出生十九世紀民族主義高漲的時代，加上長期俄國對於芬蘭控制的意圖，他支持民族主義不遺餘力。他的作品中包含了「對國家國土的情懷」、「對芬蘭自然景色氣候的描寫」、「以史詩文學的靈感」等創作元素。在三十年的創作生涯中，為後世留下了質與量都頗豐富的作品，七首交響曲、七首交響詩、一首小提琴協奏曲、多首管弦樂作品、戲劇配樂、室內樂、鋼琴曲與合唱等作品。在今日，他的作品仍在世界上廣受喜愛。西貝流士一生總共創作了七首交響曲，堪稱是西貝流士作曲的精華，西貝流士認為「交響曲中嚴格的要求與曲式，以及使得所有動機產生內部連結的嚴謹作曲邏輯」，使得西貝流士對於交響曲結構上的要求相對較高，時常在首演之後又收回大肆修改，《第五號交響曲》也是經過兩次的修改才呈現如今的風貌。本文針對《第五號交響曲》分析與指揮詮釋，從作曲家生平，創作背景中著手探討，以「交響曲的結構」、「和聲與調性」進行樂曲分析，透過與鋼琴的排練及有聲資料的聆賞，整理後提出適當的指揮詮釋。

Sibelius (Johan Christian Julius Sibelius, 1864-1957) was a representative Nationalism composer in Finland. Sibelius was born in 19th century , the ege that the Nationalism rises. Due to Russian’s intention to govern Finland, Sibelius supported Nationalism with all his effort. Sibelius composed with some elements such as “Passion for the Nation”, “Description of the nature in Finland” and “Inspiration from the epics”. During his 30-year career, Sibelius had composed works with high quality and quantity, including seven symphonies, seven symphonic poems, one violin concerto, orchestral music, opera music, chamber music, piano music and chorus. Nowadays, his compositon is still loved by people all around the world. These seven symphonies composed by Sibelius are considered to be his best output. In his opinion, “Symphonies should have strict musical form and profound logic which can relate all the motives.” This brought him a higher standard of the symphony required structure. Thus, he often modified the composition after the first performance. Symphony No. 5 has also been modified twice before the late version. This thesis focuses on the analysis of his Symphony No. 5 and the Conducting Interpretation. The thesis will start from the discussion of Sibelius’ lifetime and his composition career, and analyze the structure of this composition, harmony and tonality. Moreover, a suitable conducting interpretation is suggerted based on the collective results of rehearsals with a piano and audio reference.
