(LOHAS,Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability)旅行,旅遊資訊遂成為旅途中不可或缺元素。

With growing economic wealth and more convenient transportation access, from joining a time-pressed guided tours to pursuing a LOHAS (Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability) traveling concept, travel information is an indispensable element of a pleasant journey. Traditional travel information is mainly paper-based; however, with declining sale of guidebooks, rising adoption of digital technology, and rapid growth of smart phones and tablets, nowadays the main source of travel information has changed greatly. The purpose of this study focuses on the research and creation of a digital tour guide for travelers to conveniently and spontaneously obtain travel information. The digital tour guide of this study adopts the “EPUB interactive ebooks format ‘fixed layout’ ”, which has diversification layout, is highly compatible across platforms, and supports multimedia audio, video, and interactive effects. Through literature review, the key criteria of a digital tour guide are summarized by analyzing User Interface, Content, User Experience, and Digital Tour Guide Case Study. Based on these criteria, the research method was selected to design a small-area digital guide demonstration at “Qingtian Street” in Taipei City and to implement the “Think Aloud protocol” to allow participants to express their feelings intuitively. The evaluation was based on four elements: visual design, operation interface, content, and overall feelings. The results showed that digital tour guide meets travelers needs and is very suitable for city travel and urban neighborhoods. From the design and creation aspect, the collection of digital guide criteria, demonstration feedback, and street interviews was the creative content of the digital tour guide. These contents were classified into four categories – Exploration of history, Meditation of mind, Quiet and leisure, and Arts and feasts – for a total of 34 locations; through applying visual design and color configuration to present the “EPUB digital tour guide of ShiDa Walking Place .” Before travelers arrive at the destination, they can use the digital tour guide to learn about the historical background, nearby store information, and shopping suggestions of each attraction; when operating the digital tour guide on site, travelers can use the navigation map and real photos on display to help them find the attraction location. The digital interactive city guide offers an instant convenience and intuitive operation. It not only adds more fun to the tour, but also brings to light the local cultural features, leads travelers to immerse in the environment and atmosphere, and creates a pleasant travel experience that ultimately drive the local tourism and business opportunities.
