摘要

音樂劇是一門綜合藝術，其中主要包含戲劇、歌唱和舞蹈，另外還有各種目不暇給的舞台技術等，這種多元化的優勢往往能吸引較多觀眾入場。另一方面，也因為表演形式多元化，對表演者而言，相較其他類形的表演藝術，需要更複雜的技巧，務求把各種元素以最適合角色的形式有機結合。本詮釋報將以香港「演戲家族」製作的中文（粵語）音樂劇《邊城》中女主角──翠翠為例，進行角色分析、拆解，研究其背景、性格特質，以及與其他角色的關係，藉此了解「翠翠」在此劇中的定位和象徵。接著結合劇中的歌曲、台詞，探索角色的其他可能性，然後作出重新詮釋。筆者將透過劇本中角色的片面，詳細記錄與其有關的外在背景，再以角色自傳的形式合理推測及建立角色過去的經歷，使角色更立體。角色形象部分，將根據其背景，以圖片搜集為主，設定其衣著打扮及設計出應幫助突顯角色的姿態。然後撰寫角色日記，詳細記錄角色的心理活動。接著，集中研究角色的其中七首重要曲目，分析其歌詞意涵、潛台詞、內在動機及設計外在動作。最後，將這七首曲目以根據劇情串連起來，作約四十五分鐘的表演，呈現翠翠的成長經過以及崎嶇的愛情之路。

Musical is a kind of multiple performing arts which combines drama, music and dance, as well as various wonderful technical effects. This is an advantage to draw more audience to go to theater. However, due to its complexity, musical performers who have to attain organic combination between acting, singing and dancing are facing more and bigger challenges. Take the main character Tsuei Tsuei from the Cantonese musical The Border Town produced by Actor’s Family as example, this study helps performer to find the definition and symbol of the role through analyzing the background, personality and relationship with other characters of Tsuei Tsuei. Then, performer can explore more potential of the character and to re-interpret based on the lines and songs. Although script offers information of a character, they are just fragments. Writing a character biography with logical assumption is an important step to complete the story of the past life of the character. The next part is to build up Tsuei Tsuei’s image by searching pictures on internet according to her background and personality, and write character diary to record the psychological changes in the play. Last, this study concentrates on 7 songs significant to Tsuei Tsuei, to analyze the lyrics, subtext, internal motivation and actions. And these songs will be put together to be a 45-minute presentation to present Tsuei Tsuei’s progress of growth and her hard love-story.
