布拉姆斯（Johannes Brahms, 1833-1897）為德國的鋼琴家與作曲家，生於浪漫時期，創作中可見專屬於他的熱情與浪漫。他的鋼琴創作可分為三個時期。本文將挑選早期的《四首敘事曲》，作品十（Four Ballades, Op. 10），與晚期的《三首間奏曲》，作品一一七（Three Intermezzi, Op. 117），作為本文分析與詮釋之樂曲。布拉姆斯於1854年寫下性格小品《四首敘事曲》，作品十，樂曲中可見他早期創作中蓄勢待發的熱情。1892年完成人生的倒數第三組鋼琴作品《三首間奏曲》，作品一一七，樂曲短小精簡，音樂中彷彿有著無限惆悵般哀傷、優美，反映晚年的布拉姆斯內心孤獨。全文共分成五章：第一章緒論，包含研究動機與目的、研究範圍與方法。第二章為布拉姆斯生平及鋼琴風格概述，探討作曲家的生長背景、學習歷程與鋼琴創作之特色。第三章樂曲分析，將分析與探討《四首敘事曲》，作品十與《三首間奏曲》，作品一一七的創作手法。第四章演奏詮釋，針對這兩個作品，提出筆者對於演奏速度、節奏、力度、表情記號、運音法和踏板等角度的演奏體驗。第五章結語，將會綜合以上內容，整理出本文之重點與心得。

Johannes Brahms (1833-1897), a German pianist and composer, was born in the romantic period. His piano works can be divided into three periods. This article selects Four Ballads, Op. 10 and Three Intermezzi, Op. 117 as research objects. Brahms composed Four Ballads, Op.10 in 1854. The work is full of passion from his early life. In 1892, he completed Three Intermezzi, Op.117. The music is concise, and full of many musical traits from classical period. There seems to be infinite melancholy, sadness, and grace, reflecting the loneliness of Brahms in his old age. This thesis consists of five chapters. Chapter one contains the research motives, scopes, and methods. Chapter two is an overview of Brahms’ life and piano style, discussing the composer’s life, musical training and the characteristics of piano music. Chapter three analyzes and discusses the musical idioms used in Four Ballads, Op.10 and Three Intermezzi, Op.117. Chapter four discusses performance interpretation, including the aspects of tempo, rhythm, dynamics, expression markings and pedaling. Chapter five concludes the findings of the research.
