Nose-flute is a traditional musical instrument from multiple Taiwanese indigenous peoples. The most prominent feature of this instrument is its anatomy: the air is blown into the instrument from the player’s nose. This thesis will mainly examine the nose-flute of Tsou. Other than the textual narrative, this thesis includes several attachments such as relevant videos, literatures, the pre-processing and the post-production of the documentary. The goal is to archive the lost traditions of Tsou’s instruments as well as raise the awareness of cultural preservation.
