電子書的文字編排方式影響閱讀速度與閱讀理解之研究

摘要


電子書近年來逐漸受到大眾的歡迎,然而電子書的排版規格尙不成熟,故探討電子書文章的不同字型與行距設計對使用者的閱讀速度以及閱讀理解之影響。本研究針對76位國中學生進行測驗。受測學生閱讀電子書文章,閱讀完畢學生自行記錄經過的時間,再統一進行閱讀理解測驗。本研究在版面與內容的設計上,選擇短篇閱讀內容,並選用以文字為主的小品文作為測試內容,探討其「字型」與「行距」兩個自變項對閱讀速度與閱讀理解的影響。實驗結果經統計分析後,在閱讀速度排序上前兩名的字體都是黑體;在閱讀理解方面,發現最好的前兩名組合,第一名為文字編排方式二(細明體、1.5倍行高),第二名為文字編排方式四(黑體、1.5倍行高);另外也發現這76位受測學生中,女生的閱讀理解顯著高於男生。建議業者在設計電子書時,可以設計黑體搭配1.5倍行高,此種文字編排方式能讓使用者增加其閱讀電子書的閱讀速度與閱讀理解。

E-books in recent years increasingly welcomed by the general public. However, the e-book typography yet have immature, so investigating the influence of reading speed and comprehension from e-book typography to the users. In this study, 76 junior high schools students to test. When the subjects finished reading an e-book article, themselves recorded the time elapsed. And then they carried out the test of reading comprehension together. The tests used the short essays to read. Researcher wants to research into the influence of reading speed and comprehension from the two independent variables "font" and "spacing". The results, after statistical analysis, the reading speed sorting on the top two fonts are boldface. In reading comprehension, find the best combination of the top two: the first is the text presentation of two (New-Xi-Ming font type, 1.5 times line height), the second is the text presentation of four (bold, 1.5 times line higher). Additionally, it also found that 76 subjects of girls were higher than boys in reading comprehension. It recommends that the industry can design blackbody with 1.5 line height in the design of e-books. This presentation of text allows users to increase their reading speed and comprehension when they read e-books.
