People are increasingly likely to use electronic mail to communicate with others by nonverbal computer-mediated communication for business. Email communication is leaner in information richness because fewer cues are available and because feedback can be delayed and is less obtainable. Email characteristics make miscommunication likely and email receivers often misinterpret emails as more emotionally negative than intended. In accordance with the communication model theories, email senders influence the accuracy of emotional interpersonal communication in emails. I introduce a theoretical framework describing how the gender factors of email senders make miscommunication most likely and influence how responsiveness content in emails is perceived. The finding are that receivers of emails from males as compared to female senders on deny response strategy perceive negative emotion and emails from females as compared to male senders on deal response strategy perceive negative emotion strongly.
