公民社會在臺灣已日益發展,其重要性與日俱增,而參與服務學習課程的成效,在自我成長、人際關係、社會關懷、公民責任、公民參與、助人行為等均已獲得國內外相關研究的證實,惟在對公民社會發展的影響,以及我國大學生在公民社會的發展程度現況,尚未有相關量化研究文獻的發表。本研究旨在了解我國大學生公民社會發展程度的現況,並建構服務學習課程與公民社會發展程度的衡量指標,以瞭解大學生修習服務學習課程對建構公民社會的影響。 本研究採量化研究方法,以輔仁大學及中原大學兩所實施服務學習課程指標性學校之大學生為調查對象,回收有效問卷計488份,有效回收率為81.3%,依據問卷調查資料統計分析,獲得以下結論: 一、服務學習課程與公民社會發展程度的衡量指標為:公民參與態度、社會信任、人際包容與多元尊重、利社會行為。 二、我國大學生在「公民參與態度」的認知面、「人際包容與多元尊重」的發展程度良好,惟在「公民參與態度」的行動面、「社會信任」程度、「利社會行為」的志願服務面向,其發展程度明顯不足。 三、不同個人背景變項之大學生在公民社會發展程度大部分面向呈現顯著差異。 四、不同服務學習課程變項之大學生在公民社會發展程度大部分面向呈現顯著差異,且修習過服務學習課程的大學生,在公民社會發展程度大多數面向優於從未修習過服務學習課程的大學生。 五、個人背景變項、服務學習課程變項對公民社會發展程度大部分面向具有預測力,其中以有擔任志工經驗對於公民社會發展程度最具有預測力。 本研究依據研究結論,提出如何促進臺灣公民社會之發展,以及對於服務學習課程之推動、實施規劃與研究之建議,供政府及教育機關、學校教師、大學校院、大學生及未來學術相關研究之參考。
Civil society has been growing in Taiwan. The importance of civil society has gradually increased. Effectiveness of service learning courses in personal growth, interpersonal relationships, social care, civic responsibility, citizen participation, and helping behavior have been confirmed by domestic and international research. However, there is no any study to the impact on the development of civil society by quantity, also the level of civil society development to college students in the country. The objective of this study is to investigate the degree of civil society development in college students to develop an index for measuring levels of service learning curriculum and civil society development, and to understand the impact of attending service-learning courses on civil society development. This study uses quantitative research methods. Sample size includes the college students at Fu Jen Catholic University and Chung Yuan Christian University which offered service-learning courses. In total, 488 valid questionnaires are available with effective rate of 81.3%. Based on statistical analysis of survey data, the conclusions are: 1. The index for service learning curriculum and degree of development of civil society is: the attitude of citizen participation, social trust, interpersonal tolerance and respect for diversity, and prosocial behavior. 2. Students development well on cognition of "citizen participation attitude", "interpersonal tolerance and diversity to respect". In contrast, students show insufficient level of development on the action side of "citizen participation attitude", "social trust" level, and the volunteer services side of "prosocial behavior". 3. Different personal background variables have a significant effect on the development of civil society for college students. 4. Different service learning programs variables also has significant effects on the degree of civil society development for college students. Students attended service learning curses are superior in the degree of civil society development than students never attended service-learning courses. 5. Personal background variables and service-learning courses variable show predictive power in degree of civil society development. The experience as a volunteer has the most predictive power in the development of civil society. According to the findings, this study proposes suggestions for improving civil society development in Taiwan. And it also proposes suggestions to promote service-learning courses and recommendations on implementation of planning and research as references to government and educational institutions, school teachers, colleges, college students and the future research.
