Under the impact of institutional reform of Taiwan's national health insurance system, the expenditure control has become the significant way for promoting the hospital operating efficient to fit the environmental change. Among them, the operation costs of the hospital utility facilities are substantial that may affect the achievement of the hospital management. In this thesis, based on the field investigation of the Cheng-Kung university hospital, three methods for the larger-scale chiller management are proposed. In the methods, the moving and renewing plans of chiller are evaluated, where the heat pump is also included into the system to take further energy efficiency. To validate the performance of the proposed method, the qualified simulation software was used in the laboratory. From the simulation results, they confirm that the proposed methods can offer a considerable energy benefit, thereby consolidating the feasibility and practicality of the approach for the applications considered.
