RFID應用於金屬加工製程之探討

摘要


本研究以RFID做為應用科技,以中小型代工業為出發點,探討其加工製程。由於RFID技術在現階段仍未成熟,其技術瓶頸與成本支出對於企業來說,還是相當沉重的負擔;而且產業的特性對於RFID的效益亦是一個未知數,因此許多業主對此仍持保留態度。本文藉由專家訪談建立通用的加工製程,分階段討論三項問題:(一)現行流程運作方式;(二)RFID導入可能;(三)RFID導入瓶頸。藉由與業界專家與RFID學者共同探討,找出RFID在中小型金屬代工業的潛在應用,並討論RFID應用於中小型代工廠的技術與實務瓶頸,做為後續研究的突破口。本研究分為五個部分:(一)產業特性描述;(二)文獻探討比較金屬代工業資訊科技應用的演變;(三)專家分群,進行深入訪談;(四)加工製程分階探討RFID應用與瓶頸;(五)提出管理與導入建議。由資料分析中,本研究發現在加工製程的各個階段,RFID在技術面與應用面上,皆存在著若干難以克服之問題,包括相對成本、包裝材質與人力需求等,且基於tag貼附載體層級的不同,其適用程度也大不相同。故在現階段,總體來說,中小型金屬代工廠因製程過於單一化與技術應用等因素,仍不適合導入RFID,但這是基於技術面、組織面與產業環境面都不變化的情況下,若技術成熟度增加或由組織面做變化,RFID在不久的將來,相信不只在物流業與服務業,也能帶給製造業突破性的價值。

The study explores the RFID application on the metal manufacturing process. The RFID has been studied and applied for years; however, it is still not common in the metal manufacturing process. The study aims at identifying problems in the metal processing environment if RFID would be introduced. To gather experts’ opinions regard to the issue are the primary tool of the study. An assumed process is explained to the experts and questions about the application of the RFID on the process are proposed. Experts who come from practical and academic fields are solicited for the questions. In general, the procedure of the study when meeting with experts is as follows: first: explain the current flow chart of the metal process; second, discuss the feasibility of the RFID on the process; third, the potential bottlenecks of the process when the RFID is applied. The study can be classified into five parts: 1. illustration of the metal industry, 2. literature review on the relevant issues, 3. interview with experts, 4. analysis the results of the interview, 5. propose the author’s opinions and suggestions. From the study, the problems of the RFID application on the metal manufacturing process are more solidly identified. The problems include the expensive cost invested on the RFID application, capability of employee when tackling the RFID process, quality problems would be unknown and difficult to control, and the tags applied on the different levels of goods or boxes would cause the trouble of the operations, etc. Therefore, the study asserts the RFID application on the metal manufacturing process is not mature yet. However, as the technology progress and the cost of investment on the RFID equipments reduced, plus the requirement from customers, the RFID must be a strong and helpful tool in the metal manufacturing process.
