RFID (Radio Frequency Identification, RFID) technology has been extensively applied in various applications. It is regarded as one of the top ten technologies in this century. Recently, Taiwan government is very active to push the U-Taiwan (Ubiquitous Taiwan) and IOT (Internet of Thing) plan which utilizes RFID technology to reach the aim of ubiquitous services. The purpose in this project is to apply RFID technology to build a mold management system to promote the work efficiency in the factory. In recent years, due to the rapid growth of the industry and the increasing diversification of user needs, the product life cycles become shorter that result in rapid increase of various molds and also lead to many mold management problems. Therefore, this study utilizes a handheld RFID reader with wifi and database to search and make an inventory of mold items to reduce management costs, promote work efficiency and improve competitiveness of the factory.
