Tension control can be used to Roll-to-Roll Apparatus that extensively applied to auto transmission belt, printer rolls, and semiconductor process occasions. The precision detection and tension control devices can help the Roll-to-Roll apparatus to makes the film from being pulled, squeezed, or twisted. This is to ensure the stability of the manufacture process to obtain good quality of products. The purpose of this work is to derive the mathematical model of tension control for Roll-to-Roll apparatus with swing wheel. First, we investigate the studies the researches of tension control. And, we establish the dynamic equations of tension control for Roll-to-Roll apparatus with swing wheel. Finally, we use the Matlab tool and a Roll-to-Roll apparatus to simulate and experiment the dynamic characteristics. The results show the proposed method of this work is feasible.
