隨著網際網路的蓬勃發展與相關應用的普及,使得網路使用者在無線環境下對於頻寬與服務品質的要求越來越高,因此為了全面提升傳輸速率,期待新一代的通訊標準能提供超過Gbps以上的傳輸效能,為此IETF SIGTRAN工作小組與IEEE 802.11標準工作小組分別於傳輸層以及資料連結層提出新一代的串流控制傳輸協定(SCTP)與下一代的無線區域網路通訊標準IEEE 802.11ac/VHT (Very High Throughput)。 雖然SCTP 與IEEE 802.11ac通訊協定皆是為了增進現有通訊協定的通訊品質而規劃設計,但是目前並沒有相關的研究對這兩種通訊協定同時進行效能分析,因此本篇論文針對SCTP over IEEE 802.11ac的效能進行模擬與探討;實驗結果顯示SCTP可提供優於傳統TCP的傳輸效能,將SCTP應用於IEEE 802.11ac的無線網路環境可讓使用者獲得更快更穩定的網路環境,有利於實現數位匯流時代寬頻傳輸的願景。
Along with the vigorous development of internet and the pervasion of its related applications, the requirements of users for bandwidth and service quality under wireless environment accordingly grow. Therefore, to comprehensively enhance the transmission rate, expecting next-generation communication protocol will provide transmission performance up to Gbps, IETFSIGTRAN working group and IEEE802.11 standard working group respectively proposed new-generation stream control transmission protocol (SCTP) and next-generation IEEE802.11ac/VHT wireless LAN standard in transmission layer and data link layer. Though SCTP and IEEE 802.11ac can both enhance the quality of existing communication protocols, presently, there are no related researches analyzing their performance of the two protocols. Thus, this study aims at this issue, conducting simulation and exploration on performance SCTP over IEEE 802.11ac. The experiment results showed that SCTP has better transmission performance than traditional TCP. Applying SCTP in IEEE802.11ac wireless network is efficient to provide users a faster and more stable network environment, helping realize vision of broadband transmission in the era of digital convergence.
