This paper presents elevator magnetic brake system controlled by using PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation) which reduces unexpected failures, enhances overall safe, reduces noise in traditional brake system, saves more power, and reduces overheating in magnetic coil. Magnetic elevator brake system is implemented by using microprocessor to control actuators and relays in accordance with the timing of the entire brake system with safety consideration. Experimental results are provided to verify the performance of the proposed system.
