利用半導體光放大器架構出被動式光纖雷射

摘要


我們利用半導體光放大器當作注入光源和增益介質,架構出環形光纖雷射以及八字形光纖脈衝雷射。在環形的系統中,我們發現在會有兩種不同波長的光1058nm 及 1067nm。這兩種光在腔內分別有快速開關(switch)的性質,且會互補,因此在光源出口會看到兩種光產生像方波的圖形。而在八字形的光纖中,我們可以產生高重複率的被動脈衝雷射,重複率最高可達9.1GHz,為目前被動式所模雷射中重複率可達的最高重複率。

We used semiconductor optical amplifier as the pumping source and gain medium in laser cavity. We structured two cavities: ring cavity and figure-eight cavity. In the ring cavity, we found two output lights with different wavelengths at 1058nm and 1067nm. Both lights in cavity alternate with high frequency, thus the output detected by a single photodide behaves like a square waveform. In the figure-eight cavity, we generated the highest repetition rate passive mode-locked laser with maximal repetition rate up to 9.1 GHz.
