This study aims to optimize the cutting process of thinning TFT-LCD display glass with the Taguchi method. I find the top 5 experiment factors by fishbone diagram and C&E matrix, including cutting wheel angle, cutting wheel teeth, cutting wheel depth, scribe speed, scribe load. This thesis executes the experiment by L18(21X37) orthogonal arrays including one 2-level factor and four 3-level factor. The response variable is designated as the cutting vertical depth of glass cross sections. Response variables are transformed into signal - to - noise ratios to investigate the relationship between effects of every factor and the change of factor levels. Finally, optimized cutting wheel types and cutting process recipes are determined. The test result of this thesis shows the defect rate is thus reduced by 0.115%.
