This thesis is an artist statement of the author’s graduate series artwork, “Vestige”. By exploring the two pieces “Vestige—Soap” and “Vestige—Dissolve”, the author connects the tactile sensation and personal feelings through everyday objects. This series of work takes everyday objects that relate to human body as materials to do the texture experiment. Through many participants’ collaboration in the creating process this series works are completed. From the process of connecting people’s behavior in daily life and objects, the author investigates how people view their feelings in living space and what roles do these objects play.
