短距離光連結系統以波長850奈米垂直共振腔體面射型雷射為基礎應用非線性失真補償技術

摘要


由於網路資訊量持續的爆炸性成長以及需求量逐漸增加的物聯網技術,目前的數據中心不斷的成長並轉型成擁有更高頻寬,更高效能以及覆蓋土地面積更廣大的超大型數據中心。 對於數據中心之間與數據中心內部傳輸資訊的通訊系統以低成本,超高速,低能量消耗率的光連結系統取代傳統電連結系統成為了必須的選擇。因此,對於已經應用於數據中心中並搭配不同距離下光電訊號轉換的標準的垂直共振腔面射型雷射為基底的光連結系統持續的主導了短距離光連結系統的市場。另一方面,為了因應不斷成長的頻寬需求,最新的400G Ethernet standard 已在最近做出了標準的最後制定。除此之外隨著半導體製程技術不斷的進步下,近年來數位訊號處理晶片的技術得力於此而能有效的應用於光通訊系統中。 因此,欲提供400G Ethernet有效率的解決方案,本實驗成功展示並討論了在應用非線性補償技術下以四階層脈衝振幅調制以及正交分頻多工調制為訊號源的短距離光連結系統。

Due to the ever increasing of internet data traffic and ramping demand for the internet of thing (IoT), modern data centers keep growing up and transforming to higher bandwidth with better performance and larger size of mega data centers. For the communications between and within data centers, cost-effective, high-speed, and low power consumption optical interconnects are necessities. Therefore, vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers-based (VCSEL-based) optical links have been dominating the short-reach optical interconnects markets which adopt to various interfaces of modern mega data centers. On the other hand, to meet the new requirement of increasing demand of bandwidth, 400G Ethernet had been standardized for next generation data centers recently. Moreover, as the improvement from CMOS processing techniques, DSP technologies have been employing for optical communications recent years Hence, in order to provide efficient solutions for 400GBASE-SR. Demonstration of 4-level Pulse Amplitude modulation (4-PAM) and Discrete Multi-tone (DMT) transmission with nonlinear compensation techniques are investigated and discussed in this work.
