心電圖計的發展與創新─以S公司為例

摘要


1903年,荷蘭醫生、生理學家威廉·埃因托芬發明了弦線式檢流計,從而帶來了心電圖歷史上的第一次突破。埃因托芬把心電圖中的一系列波分別命名為P波,Q波,R波,S波和T波,並且描述了一些心血管系統疾病的心電圖特點,並於1924年獲得諾貝爾醫學與生理學獎。目前,我們仍然使用當時的理論來分析心電圖。然而,隨著科技的進展,心電圖計也朝向數位化、微小化與無線化發展。同時,隨著網際網路與電子式穿戴穿置產品的興起,更促成了心電圖計的全新應用。本研究的主要目的在於藉由文獻探討,了解心電圖之發展歷史、應用原理與目前實際使用狀況;爾後透過專家訪談,以個案公司S公司為例,從與專家對談的內容中整理產業概況與商業模式,最後試圖提出心電圖計裝置未來的應用方向與不同商業模式的探討,以供後續研究或商業人士之參考。

In 1903, Willem Einthoven, a Dutch doctor and physiologist, invented the string galvanometer, marking the first breakthrough in the history of ECG system. Einthoven assigned the letters P, Q, R, S, and T to the waveforms observed in the ECG, and also described the characteristics shown on the ECG of certain cardiovascular diseases. He received the Nobel Prize in Medicine in 1924 for his accomplishments. Currently, although we still use those same theories to analyze ECG, as technology advances, the ECG system is progressing to become more digitized and miniaturized. Moreover, the idea of a wireless ECG system has recently been proposed due to the expansion of the Internet and the emergence of the use of wearable products, prompting a brand new application of the ECG system. This research first attempts to outline the evolution of ECG system by examining its history of development, clinical applications and innovations. A case company then is selected as a subject for conducting case as an integral part of this research. The company is examined from its start-up history, development strategy, product and market positioning, competition and selected growth path. Through the conclusions drawn from the development strategies of the company and the interviews with field experts, this research aims to explore future innovative applications for the ECG system and their potential business models.
