本論文提出一應用於多視角視訊編碼之低複雜度壓縮架構。主要的設計構想構築於不同B影格類型(B frame type)其特性有所差異,若利用此差異建立運動及位移向量估測決策(mode decision)架構與提前結束(early termination)策略,可大量降低編碼器複雜度。同時提出不同攝影機排列方式對編碼過程中向量選擇之影響,以及對應之編碼架構修改方式。最後將動態調整搜尋範圍應用於此編碼架構,在不包含向量搜尋快速演算法與其他平行化策略的狀況下,本論文之架構可提升高達91% - 93%之效能並保有良好畫面品質。
In this thesis, we present a low complexity multi-view video coding encoder which includes mode decision and early termination based on B-frame characteristics and camera arrangements. We analyze the statistics of coding mode distribution in different B frame types and camera arrangements, and propose our mode decision algorithm and early termination scheme to reduce the computing complexity without other fast motion estimation searching algorithms or parallelization strategies. The adaptive search range is also applied to our encoding scheme. In our experimental results, the encoding time is saved up to 91% - 93% with the quality of reconstruction video remained.
