台灣塑膠機械產業見證了台灣經濟發展的歷程,外銷的比重也僅次於工具機。近年來因為經濟景氣不佳,歐美廠商降價求售,生產低價機械的中國業者,技術也逐漸提升,台灣業者遭受上下夾擊。面對這個艱困的競爭環境,部分廠商積極投入研發創新,而部分廠商則選擇低價策略。 個案公司為求突破困境,投入技術創新,以豐田JIT(Just-in-Time)的核心概念,簡化塑膠背心購物袋的製程,發展出創新的機種,希望能找出企業競爭力的核心,提高競爭力。另外,研究中以創新擴散理論,對照個案公司的創新機種引進市場的實際歷程。 本研究以SWOT分析、五力分析、鑽石理論等探討台灣塑膠機械產業、創新機種和企業(個案公司)面對的優劣勢和發展機會與威脅,進而探討技術創新對企業競爭力的影響 。 專家的深度訪談中,受訪者也確認技術創新可以提高企業競爭力,而這個根據實際訪談所得的結論,也和研究者找到的文獻相互呼應。 台灣塑膠機械大多為中小企業,研發和競爭的能力都受到限制,以技術創新來形成企業的競爭核心,已經是刻不容緩的重要議題。但中小企業資源有限,或能聯合競爭對手,產生競合的能量,以產業整體的力量來面對嚴苛的市場競爭,也是中小企業的生存的策略選項。
Plastic machinery Industry plays a very important rolein the growth of Taiwan economy and total exports of plastic machinery every year is just lower than that of CNC tools. In recent years, because of the recession of global economy, the leading manufacturers in Europe and U.S.A. had reduced their prices for the customers. And, on the other hand, China manufacturers are improving their technology and no longer staying in the low price market. Taiwan manufacturers are facing the competitions from both sides, and some of the manufacturers invest on the research & developments, and, the others keep the lower price strategy. In this thesis, the case company, is following the important concept of Toyota JIT (Just-in-Time), designed the machine with technical innovation, improving the manufacturing process, of plastic T-shirt bags, and trying to have better competitive power among the competitors, is consistent to the Diffusion of Innovations Theory shows exactly the situation of the case company during their promotion of the new machine with innovation. The thesis studies the strength, weakness, opportunity & threat of the new machine and the case company, against other machine and other companies, and to figure out how the technical innovation could affect to the competitiveness of the company. From the depth-interview with the experts in plastic industry, most of the people also agreed that technical innovation could affect to the competitiveness of the company, and the resultsare consistent with what we learns from the theory and literature. Most of the plastic machine manufacturers in Taiwan are small or medium scale, which have no enough capability and resources for the research &development. However, to improve the technical technology and to compete in the market, are getting more and more important now a day. To collaborate with competitors could help all companies to learn and grow faster, and become union to reduce the competition in the market, which could be a good strategy for the small and medium companies in such difficult time.
