本研究目的是分析高齡者交通安全教育實施的現況與問題,應用Knowles成人教育學模型,規劃並實施以高齡者為中心的交通安全教學方案,探討高齡者交通安全知識學習之困境,評估高齡者參與交通安全教學方案後的成效。本研究對象為S區(化名)樂齡中心學員,應用行動研究法、參與觀察法、半結構性訪談法、問卷調查法來分析教學歷程與成效。綜合研究結論如下︰ 一、以高齡學員為中心的交通安全教學方案規劃,符合並啟發學習者的需求;二、成人教育學模型適用於高齡者交通安全教學實施;三、高齡者交通安全學習的困境,包含學習適應、用路學習背景、用路困擾和參與動機等四方面;四、高齡者交通安全教學活動的困難,包含高齡者個別差異性高、高齡者交通安全課程不受重視,教學無法連續與持續進行、適用於高齡教學的多媒體軟體欠缺等三方面;五、高齡者交通安全教學有效提升高齡者用路能力、用路行為改變並開創新學習經驗。所以高齡交通安全專科教育師可應用成人教育學模型進行交通安全知識的教學,達到教育高齡者自我保護與事故防制的目標。 本研究根據研究結論,針對高齡者交通安全政策規劃、實施與輔導的高齡教育機構,以及高齡交通安全專科教育師提出未來實施的建議。
The purpose of this study is to analysis the current situation and the problem of the traffic safety education for elders. The research applied the model of adult education of Knowles to plan and carry out the traffic safety education for elder program and to evaluate the empowerment of the elders after they attained the traffic safety education lessons. The participants of the study were the elders from Xi-Shi (pseudonym) community. The study adopted the action research method, participant observation method, semi-structured interview, and questionnaire method to analyze the process and the effectiveness of the teaching programs. The results showed that (a) The elder-learner-based designed teaching plan fit and arouse the requirements of the learners; (b) The Andragogical model is suitable for the carry out of the traffic safety teaching for elders. (c) The difficulties of the elders learning the traffic safety knowledge include: learning and adapting capability of the elders, the background of learning road safety, and the confusions of road usage. (d)The difficulties of giving traffic safety education activities include: the high individual differences, the ignorance from the public, unable to continue the teaching programs, the lack of proper teaching multi-media. (e) The traffic safety education for elder adults is useful to increase the abilities of elders walking and driving, change the walking and driving habits and create the new experience of learning. Therefore, the facilitators of traffic safety education for elders are able to apply the model of adult education in teaching the traffic safety knowledge and to reach the goal of teaching elder adult to protect themselves and prevent the traffic accidents. According to the results, this study proposes some suggestions on the traffic safety policy planning for the elders, the implementing and tutoring institution of elder education, and the facilitators of traffic safety of elder for the coming education programs.
