近年來由於無線網路快速的發展,加上智慧型手機與平板電腦等3C產品大量推出,使得多媒體傳輸的服務普及化,然而在視訊串流的傳輸上,頻寬偵測的機制是非常重要的,利用頻寬偵測的資訊可使用戶端達到高品質的服務。一個好的頻寬偵測機制需符合下列兩點:準確與快速。準確的提供目前可用頻寬以及快速的偵測時間。本論文當中提出的頻寬偵測機制,利用IEEE 802.11 Wi-Fi所規定的機制加上利用機率所表示的可用通道時間比例,就能精準且快速地計算出可用頻寬大小。本論文中採用估算頻寬的方法,有考慮到用戶端在移動時,封包在傳輸過程中會有大量遺失的情況,因此可提升用戶端在移動情況下頻寬偵測的準確性。針對在無線網路環境容易遺失封包,我們採用的方法可避免以往因封包遺失而造成偵測出來的頻寬產生大量的誤差,因此可提高準確性。
In recent years, the service of multimedia transmission becomes universal due to the rapid development of wireless networks. Smart phone and tablet PC become more and more popularization, bring more convenience to people. However, bandwidth detection mechanism is very important in the transmission of video streaming. Using the information of bandwidth detection will make the clients to be high-quality services. A good bandwidth detection mechanism should include the two following characters, accurate and fast, which mean to provide available bandwidth accurately and fast detection. The proposed bandwidth detection mechanism, which use the protocol of IEEE802.11 Wi-Fi and the probability of the available channel time. The proposed method can accurately and quickly calculate the available bandwidth. When the client is moving, there will be a lot of packet loss. Because of the consideration of packet loss in network, the methods used in estimating the bandwidth and parameter choice, significantly improve the accuracy of the bandwidth detection. For the easily packet loss of wireless network environment, the methods we adopted, avoid the large amount of error from bandwidth detection due to packet loss, can improve the accuracy. Our methods are proved to be superior to other bandwidth detection tools in measured results.
