資訊處理觀點探討台灣中小企業成長與組織結構之關係:產業環境與成長過程之調節效果

摘要


台灣經濟發展過程中小企業扮演著重要角色,許多中小企業積極採行多角化及國際化等成長策略追求永續經營,營運複雜程度與資訊處理需求會隨著執行成長策略伴隨而來。此時,中小企業必須適時調整組織結構,以使企業營運得以順利推行。過去國內外文獻無論是中小企業成長的前因或成長的結果相關研究,鮮少研究探討中小企業成長對經營權結構與所有權結構非財務面的結果。 本研究以資訊處理觀點為基礎,以台灣235家上市櫃之中小企業2005年至2011年相關資料,探討台灣中小企業成長對董事會結構及高階管理團隊結構的影響,此外本研究亦探討產業環境與成長過程之調節效果。 董事會結構方面,研究結果發現企業成長程度越高,則董事會規模越大、企業成長程度越高,則總經理持股率越高;高階管理團隊結構方面,研究結果發現企業成長程度越高,則高階管理團隊層級越少、企業成長程度越高,則高階管理團隊多樣性越低。產業環境調節效果方面,研究顯示產業環境動態性與複雜性對企業成長與總經理持股率之正向關係有強化效果、產業環境動態性與複雜性對企業成長與高階團隊多樣性之負向關係具強化效果;成長過程調節效果方面,研究顯示成長步調強化企業成長與董事長兼任總經理之正向關係、企業成長與總經理持股率之正向關係、企業成長與高階團隊層級之負向關係,以及企業成長與高階團隊多樣性之負向關係。 本研究管理意涵的貢獻為中小企業進行成長策略,需審視過程中面對複雜的資訊處理與需求,進而調整組織結構。而且不能忽視產業環境與成長節奏性帶來的影響。學術的貢獻在於以資訊處理觀點豐富中小企業領域的研究。

In the process of Taiwan's economic development, Small-Medium Enterprises (SMEs) play an important role. Many SMEs actively adopt diversification and internationalization strategy of pursuing sustainable growth, operational complexity and information processing demands will be accompanied with the implementation of the growth strategy. At this time, the organizational structure of SMEs must be adjusted in a timely manner, so that business operations can be implemented smoothly. Past literature whether it is the growth of SMEs antecedents or the results of relevant research, fewer studies explore the results of the growth of SMEs franchise structure and ownership structure of the non-financial side. This study is based on the information processing point of view which is regard to the 235 Listed SMEs in Taiwan from 2005 to 2011 the relevant information, exploring the effect of the growth of SMEs in Taiwan on board structure and top management team structure. In addition, the study also examines the effect of adjusting the industrial environment and growth process. On aspects of board structure, the study found that the higher the degree of business grows, the greater the size of the board is; the higher the degree of business grows, the higher the CEO shareholdings are. On aspects of top management team structure, the study found that the higher the degree of business grows, the fewer the level of top management team will be; the higher the degree of business grows, the lower the diversity of top management team will be. As to the moderating effect of the industrial environment, the study shows the industrial environment dynamics and complexity have strengthening effect for the positive relationship between business growth and CEO shareholdings. On the other hand, industrial environment dynamics and complexity have strengthening effect for the negative relationship between business growth and diversity of top management team. On the moderating effect of the growth process, the study shows the growth paces strengthen the positive relationship between business growth and CEO duality, strengthening the positive relationship between business growth and CEO shareholdings, strengthening the negative relationship between business growth and level of top management team and strengthening the negative relationship between business growth and diversity of top management team. This study means to contribute to the managerial implications for SMEs growth strategy. It’s important to examine the complex process of information processing demands, and then adjust the organizational structure. Small-Medium Enterprises can’t ignore the influence of the industrial environment and growth rhythm. Academic contribution of this study is to enrich the information processing point of view in SMEs sector.
