家長選擇幼兒園考慮層面之研究

摘要


本研究採取質性研究方法,運用訪談與文件分析,邀請五位家中幼兒轉學過的家長為研究參與者,目的在於深入探討家長選擇幼兒園在家長個人方面考量層面、考量園所層面的想法與家長整體的想法。根據研究結果提出十三項結論: 1. 大多數家長認同家長選擇幼兒園的重要性。 2. 家長個人方面考量層面影響園所考量層面的想法。 3. 收入對家長選擇幼兒園的影響較小。 4. 在家長個人方面考量層面主要影響決定的是過去的經驗、對幼教的期待及學歷。 5. 家長選擇的技巧與品味因人而異。 6. 爸爸與媽媽考慮的想法不同,而媽媽掌握選擇幼兒園的決定權。 7. 從園所考量層面看來,家長最常考量師資及課程教材。 8. 家長在選擇幼兒園的過程中對於教學方法著重於特別活動。 9. 家長在選擇環境上面偏重於喜好而不是環境是否符合規定。 10. 家長對於幼兒園收費著重在是否有得到同等的價值回饋,且對公私立幼兒園 的標準不一。 11. 家長選擇幼兒園時較不注重口碑。 12. 家長選擇幼兒園時也會受到個人職業、五歲幼兒免學費、園所行政及辦學理念、公私立性質和幼兒感受的影響。 13. 家長雖再次選擇幼兒園,但不一定都是選擇自己覺得更好的園所,或是認為上一間園所不好。 根據以上的研究結果,研究者給予一些建議,提供家長、教師與政府機構作為未來的參考。

The purpose of this study was to explore parents’ consideration when selecting a kindergarten for their children on the aspects of individual levels, kindergarten levels, and parents’ thoughts. Interviews and document analysis of qualitative research methodology were used in this study. The participants were five parents whose children had transferred from one kindergarten to another one respectively. Based on the findings, thirteen conclusions were proposed: 1. Most parents agree that it is important to select a kindergarten. 2. Consideration of parents’ level could affect that of kindergartens’. 3. Income factor is less concerned for parents selecting a kindergarten. 4. The main factors for parents selecting a kindergarten are past experiences, expectation in early childhood education, and educational background. 5. The tips and tastes of selecting vary with different parents. 6. Fathers and mothers have different ideas, but mothers are the decision-makers. 7. From kindergarten’s view, parents often care about the teachers’ qualifications and course-design. 8. Parents think most important in teaching methods is of school special events. 9. On environment, parents care more about their preference than safety. 10. On tuition, parents care about whether it is worth, and they have different standards on public and private kindergarten. 11. Parents care less about kindergartens’ reputation. 12. Parents’ selection will be affected by job, government policy, school policy, public and private schools, and feeling of children. 13. Although these parents made the second decision, not all of them thought that the former one was bad. Based on the above findings, the researchers provide some suggestions for the parents, kindergartens, and the government for future references.
