臺灣人菲律賓遊學經驗之研究

摘要

本研究結合在台灣人學習英文的現象以及我在海外遊學代辦公司工作的背景，主要探討台灣人菲律賓遊學意即英語學習的經驗。以遊學的不同階段，提出三個主要問題：(1) 準備階段：菲律賓遊學的現象如何出現在臺灣？媒體與網路行銷如何影響行為者決策 (2) 遊學階段：臺灣人菲律賓遊學經驗為何？(3) 結束階段：菲律賓遊學對後續的工作及求職/職涯是否有任何影響？

在透過半結構化訪談共十位研究參與者，統整分析訪談內容後，本研究得出以下結論：
1.受訪者是在想要轉職、或想要離職的狀況下，開始關注菲律賓遊學。菲律賓遊學 不僅是加強英語，對受訪者來說，亦是如 Gap Year 一樣的職涯轉換階段。
2.受訪者透過菲律賓遊學皆英語口說有很大的進步，並十分肯定 1對1課程
3.受訪者目前是否有穩定工作，將影響他們對菲律賓遊學的肯定程度。目前穩定工作的受訪者傾向，給予遊學經驗高度肯定

Combine the heat of learning English in Taiwan and my background and interest. This research is interested in Taiwanese studying English in the Philippines as one form of studying abroad and learning English. Three main arguments in this research in this paper are developed in three questions: (1) What is the experience for Taiwanese studying English in the Philippines? (2) How studying English courses in the Philippines is becoming a trend in Taiwan? (3) Does studying English in the Philippines benefit individual in future labor market?

After interviewing 10 participants by semi-structured interview, I analyaze the transcription in interview and to conclude my research as below:
(1) Participants start thinking about going the Philippines to study English under the circumstance that they would like to quit their job instead of quitting their job for studying. ‘Studying English in the Philippines’ could be viewd as a kind of ‘Gap Year’ arrangement.
(2) Participants got great progress especially in oral proficiency during they studying English in the Philippines and they highy recommend 1 on 1 course which conducted by the language school in the Philippines.
(3) All participants are satisfied with studying English in the Philippines, and especially A-type participants who currently has stable job credit the success of changing career to this experience.
