With technological advancement, continuous growth of bandwidth, and increased mobile wireless network coverage, people’s habits and social formations have changed. All-the-time information enables relatively faster and easier information access and social interactions compared with that using real-time information. Social capital theory asserts that people participate in interactions and join networks for profit, and that social capital is an investment of personal resources to gain profits from production. With the rapid and record-breaking increase in the market share of all-the-time information, changes in interpersonal relationship patterns based on the diverse functions and applications provided by all-the-time information can be expected. From the perspective of expectation confirmation theory, this study investigates user expectations of social capital outcomes obtained from all-the-time information and the relationship between the dependency induced by consecutive use of all-the-time information and continued usage behavior. Data for this study were collected using both Web-based and paper surveys, and SmartPLS 2.0 was adopted for data analysis. The results indicate that users become accustomed to the identity outcomes of social capital acquired by using all-the-time information, consequently developing a dependency. This dependency and their expectations directly influence the continued use of all-the-time information.
