The asymmetric flow behavior inside the concentrated photovoltaic module (HCPV) is investigated utilizing CFD method. In general, the HCPV unit included 40 cells embedded. To simplify the flow field but not loss the generality, the HCPV unit with one cell embedded is used instead through the study. The results show that the flow field inside the HCPV is affected by the Rayleigh number (Ra), the cell size and the cross-section of HCPV. The symmetric flow inside HCPV is changed to the asymmetric flow when the Ra number is large than the threshold value. The flow patterns are also different due to the cell size change. To the best knowledge of authors, there has been no scholar finds an asymmetric flow field inside the symmetric HCPV module.
