According to the degradation point of view in reliability theory, this study replaces the deteriorating rate with the failure rate of shelf life for deteriorating item. In other words, the quality characteristics or functions will deteriorate over time. When the amount of degradation exceeds a certain level, the failure of commodities is defined. For example, the loss of fresh meat is caused by the proliferation of microorganisms over time, and the Standard Health and Welfare Department of each meat microorganism has set standard boundaries. On the other hand, some customers are willing to wait when they are out of stock due to loyalty, and some customers turn to other companies to buy when they are out of stock for too long, at which time there will be a loss of sales opportunities. Therefore, this study aims at depleting commodities, and attempts to construct an economic production batch model based on shelf life under the condition of allowing stock-outs.
