諷刺語彙的圖像傳達,是自十八世紀以來,人類對社會進行溝通的特殊表現形式,即是一種宣洩的行為表現。而淺談諷刺畫,長久以來,其製作之目的性因素,一直被歸類於實用藝術的領域,未能列入繪畫藝術研究的主流。但近年來,由於傳播需求、媒體的質變與社會消費經濟結構因素的改變,諷刺畫在繪畫領域再一次的被廣泛運用,使得諷刺畫改變了在過去十八世紀的定位,繼而以漫畫、塗鴉、插畫等形式出現在傳播媒體之中,成為現代繪畫的流行之一。另一方面,由於現代視覺文化的普及,傳播媒體的快速興起,以圖像符號作為媒介,引發社會關注並產生議題,已是當今時代受到廣泛運用的傳播行徑。基於現代諷刺性畫作的興起及視覺符號泛用的普及性,使得本研究創作興起對於諷刺畫的研究,以及插畫應用創作的動機。 本研究創作的系列主題為消費文化,即是諷刺畫常見的社會議題類型。本研究創作起初探討諷刺與消費文化之相關文獻,後續再以英國John Holcroft、法國Dran、Jean Jullien、紐西蘭Glenn Jones、波蘭 Pawel Kuczynski五位現代諷刺性插畫家之作品作為案例,分析其作品之內容、形式、風格特色,以及歸納現代諷刺畫特色手法,進行作品創作。其創作之目的有其以下四點:其一,探討諷刺性畫作的應用表現。其二,運用現代諷刺性插畫作品特色進行風格創作。其三,透過創作來表達理論與實務的結合。其四,發揮諷刺性畫作之目的性。依上所述,本研究創作即是透過文獻與作品的分析,並以消費文化為主題,呈現其研究目的諷刺性插畫創作。 本研究創作所呈現的作品整體表現,與案例作品相較,從形式到整體風格表現,皆依循現代諷刺畫作品所呈現的特色,進行參考。而主要創作的內容較有別於案例作品,但仍是以具有共通性的意識形態社會議題作為創作題材。總體來看,此次的研究創作,即是依循諷刺畫類型作品所呈現的特色,發揮諷刺畫作之目的性。
From 18th century, the graphic of Ironically vocabulary expressing has been one of the special ways for human to communicate or give vent to their emotions. For a long time, the ironical graphic has been classified as Applied Art instead of the mainstream painting. However, recent years, owning to the higher demands of communication, changing of media, and the transforming of consumption, ironical graphic once again being used widely, and its position is different from the past in 18th century as well. Ironical graphic nowadays becomes one of the mainstream paintings, and appears as cartoon, graffiti or illustration in mass media. In the other hand, due to the universality of the visual communication, and the rapid spreading of mass media, its common to use ironical graphic to express people’s philosophy in big issue. On account of the rapid spreading of ironical graphic, and the high popularity of visual communication in recent years, this study will focus on the background of ironical graphic, and the motivation of making this series of works. The subject of the series of works is about consumption culture nowadays, it’s a common issue to discuss in ironical graphic expression as well. at first, the study will collect some essays about the culture of irony and consumption, then take some works from five contemporary artists: John Holcoft, Dran, Jean Jullien, Glenn Jones, Pawel Kuczynski for example. According to the contents, forms, styles; make a conclude about the characteristics of ironical graphic. The goal of making this series goes to the following four points: First, researching the ways of expression of ironical graphic Second, making this series of works by the characteristics of ironical graphics Third, combing the theories with implementing Fourth, play the original functions of ironical graphic According to these four reasons, this series of works criticize the culture of consumption nowadays by ironical graphic designing and the analysis of related essays. The form and style of this series all depend on the characteristics of ironical graphic designing from the past, even though the content is totally different from behind, there are still some common issues from society. For all, this series is expressing the original functions of ironic graphic.
