流浪貓插畫及其週邊商品設計

現今台灣社會由於各種因素導致民眾棄養寵物的數量隨之增加，使得流落街頭的寵物越來越多，衍生了一些社會問題。流浪動物團體提倡「以領養代替購買」的方式一方面遏止這些品種犬貓持續繁殖，一方面鼓勵大眾領養，希望貓狗免於收容所安樂死的命運。談到領養，會發現在開放認養的貓中最多的就是混血雜種貓-米克斯，米克斯是在路上最常見到的流浪貓也是此次插畫創作的主角。由於研究者對於流浪貓的愛護與發現台灣對於流浪動物制度上的仍有許多缺失，期望藉由此研究之插畫創作與設計商品義賣之形式，讓更多人可以重視流浪動物與生命教育，也基於相關流浪貓議題之文獻研究甚少之原因，啓發了我對於流浪貓議題插畫創作的動機。本創作研究方法是以文獻探討法為主，來蒐集流浪貓相關議題與貓主題插畫家作品風格形式分析，應用于研究者之插畫創作與攝影作品上。插畫使用黑白線條之筆觸來繪製，主要想傳達出「流浪貓沒有家，世界是黑白的」的想法，插畫主題分別為五大類「貓之奇幻場景系列」、「貓之生活日常系列」、「流浪動物插畫系列」、「品種貓的哀傷系列」、「貓之角色扮演系列」與攝影作品分為二大類「中途之家探訪」、「街貓系列」並將其插畫創作設計成商品：明信片、貼紙、桌曆、著色本、紙膠帶等以展覽形式義賣並將募得款項捐予中途之家。

Currently, in Taiwan various factors have caused an increased number of animals that abandoned by the public, as well as more and more stray animals and derived some social issues. These stray animals care organizations are advocated the method of “adopting a pet instead of buying” to not only hold back the continuous breeding of certain dogs and cats, but also encourage people to adopt pets, so as to avoid these dogs and cats from being executed by mercy killing in the animal shelter. Speaking of adoption, it discovered that Miscellaneous Breed Cat --- Mix is the most common species of cats in the open adoption. Mix is one of the most common stray cats, and it is the main character of this illustration creation. Since the researcher’s care of stray cats and discovery of many defects for the stray animal system in Taiwan, thus the researcher hoped to use the illustration creation and the charity bazaar of design merchandise to make more people who can be emphasized stray animals and life education. In addition, due to there’re only few studies and literatures related to these stray cat issues, thus it inspired the researcher’s motivation of creating the illustration of stray cats. This study was used literature review as the research method to collect related issues with stray cats and the analysis of artwork style for those illustrators with cat-related themes, and then applied to the researcher’s illustration creation and photograph artworks. The researcher adopted the style of black-and-white lines to make the illustration, which mainly expressed the ideas of “Stray cats’ world is black and white if they don’t have a home”, the illustration themes were divided into 5 major categories: “Cat’s Fancy Scene series”, “Cat’s daily life series”, “Stray animals illustration series”, “Breed Cat’s Sadness series”, and “Cat’s Role Play series”; and the photograph artworks were divided into 2 major categories: “Visit to Midway Home” and “Street Cat series”, designed these illustration creation to be the merchandise: including postcard, sticker, table calendar, color book, paper tape, etc., and held charity bazaar to fundraise and donate the money to the midway home.
