摘要


5G網路是以網路切片分割為多個的邏輯網路,使其能提供各種情境下的服務。為此,第三代合作夥伴計劃(3GPP)提出一5G管理與調度網路切片的系統,而其中調度由虛擬化網路功能(VNF)所組成的網路切片運行的平台則是基於歐洲電信標準組織(ETSI)所提出之NFV MANO架構。此外,傳統上VNF是以虛擬機(Virtual Machine,VM)的方式運行於NFV MANO平台,而隨著容器化技術成熟,其輕量及快速部署的特性致使基於容器的虛擬網路功能(Container-Based VNF)逐漸受到採用。然而,雖新開發的網路功能已有Container-Based VNFs版本,但成熟的商用軟體仍以虛擬機為主,致使網路運營商難以享有容器化帶來的效益。而若要同時支援兩種VNF的平台,使用多個NFV MANO平台管控VNFs與Container-Based VNFs的生命週期,將提高部署與維運的成本。 因此,本篇論文提出設計支援5G 網路切片具混合虛擬機與容器網路功能之符合ESTI NFV MANO規範的平台,實現混合虛擬機與容器的網路切片生命週期管理,透過Kubernetes統一控管介面來調度Container-Based VNFs與VM-Based VNFs。本研究建置一實際可運行之系統,經實測證實,本論文所提出之系統可實現虛擬機與容器VNFs運行共存。

The 5G network applies network slicing to split multiple logical networks, so that it can provide a variety of services with different use cases. Therefore, the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) proposes a 5G management and orchestration (5G MANO)architecure for network slicing, in which the orchestation of the network slice consisting of virtualized network functions (VNFs) is based on the ETSI NFV MANO architecture. In addition, VNF has traditionally operated on the NFV MANO platform as a virtual machine (VM). And, as containerization technology matures, its lightweight and rapidly deployed characteristics have led to the gradual adoption of Container-Based VNF. However, although the newly developed network functions already have the version of Container-Based VNFs, the mature commercial software is still dominated by VM, which makes it difficult for network operators to enjoy the benefits of containerization. If the operators would like to support two types of VNFs at the same time, using multiple NFV MANO platforms to control the life cycle of VNFs and Container-Based VNFs will increase the cost of deployment and maintenance. Therefore, this study proposes to design of a NFV MANO system for 5G network slicing with the support of hybrid VM-Based and Container-based VNFs and conforms to the ETSI NFV MANO specification that realizes the network slicing lifecycle management of hybrid VM-Based and Container-based VNFs . And, the proposed system can orchestrates Container-Based VNFs and VM-Based-VNFs under the Kubernetes unified control interface. Furthermore, this study completes a practical system. And, it has been confirmed by actual measurement that the proposed system can achieve the goal of coexistence and effective management of VM-Based and Container-based VNFs.
