The continuous progress of information technology brings diverse and rich styles of expression to the field of interactive design, using intertwined methods to enhance existing forms of multimedia interaction. This technique provides the audience with varied participatory and perceptual experiences. Therefore, it is important to provide an interactive design that is both attractive and pleasurable. The aim of this study is to investigate the guidelines of interactive design that contribute to a pleasurable experience, and the relationship between different interactive forms and the participant’s corresponding pleasure response. By consulting pertinent literature, this study analyzes related research on interactive design, interactive forms, pleasure, and research methods of user experience as the basis of pleasurable interactive design. The experiments in this study are divided into two stages. Through the interview of experts and the Kano Questionnaire, the first experiment uses existing interactive designs to analyze the interactive forms and pleasure of interactive design. The second experiment uses results generated from the first stage and related literature to establish different levels of involvement in interactive design: low-involvement, medium-involvement and high-involvement. This study uses the assessment of pleasure to provide good criteria for improving participants’ pleasure in future interactive designs. The results generated in this study reveal that the key factors influencing participants` pleasure in interactive design are rich visuals, quick feedback, and easy manipulation. Participants are most satisfied when such elements are applied to medium-involvement interactive designs. Furthermore, in interactive designs with high-involvement, interactive forms involving multiple participants are more likely to immerse users in an environment that enhances pleasurable interactions. Due to the complexity of the interactive forms, participants often require guidance, resulting in a lower satisfaction level than the medium-involvement interactive design. Lastly, low-involvement interactive designs require a larger variety of techniques to improve participants’ emotion.
