Since ancient times, human beings have been constantly searching for a happy life. Therefore, happiness has become one of the important goals of human life. In order to understand the effects of religious identity on subjective well-being, and the role of meaning in life, this article studies by questionnaire. In this study, 500 questionnaires were distributed to Buddhists, and 390 valid questionnaires were distributed. Questionnaire analysis used narrative statistics, reliability analysis, Pearson correlation, t-test, ANOVA, regression analysis and path analysis. The results show that religious identity has a significant positive impact on subjective well-being. In addition, the meaning of life plays a mediating role between religious identity and subjective well-being. The results of this study confirm that religious identity can increase subjective well-being through the promotion of the meaning of life.
