This study mainly uses the Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) method to analyze the production control process in the case study of Ordnance Factory. The FMEA has been applied to identify the potential failure risk items, and follow-by study the detailed root causes by the Cause and Effect Analysis method. Finally, an improved strategy and suggestion has been proposed based on a series of in-depth interviews. Management cadres and production control staff must pay special attention to potential risk projects and primary failure causes to increase the production efficiency and improve the product quality from process management. Based on case study results, the analysis process developed in this research has been successfully demonstrated to locate the problem in the production management process through in-depth interview with senior staff, and the corresponding improved plans are also updated by the experience first-line contractors. In addition, the developed process not only allows the supervisor and the contractor understand the importance of the production control process, but also transforms the information as an educational training material, and can be used by other departments for reference as well.
